Right now, SecretPassageGames is just one person. That means just one person doing all the programming, website maintenance, social media stuff...everything. I really just wanted to make the games, but there is a lot of other stuff that has to be done.
In the interest of trying to keep the focus on the games, I'd rather not talk about myself. There are far more interesting things in the world to talk about than myself, and I'd rather try to get people to think about those things anyway!
I have a whole page for that!
There is a SecretPassageGames Discord server with several sections for that.
When I was a child, my brother and I were exploring around our house. We found a particularly dense portion of trees that was hiding a door that went straight into the ground. We turned to one another in amazement. Who put this door here? Where did it go? How could we open it? What was inside? Was it keeping us out, or was it keeping something else in? (We found out years later that it was an abandoned World War 2 bomb shelter.)
I have talked with others who have had similar experiences in finding secret doors and hidden passages. Everyone has a different experience, of course. Most people had excitement and joy, but some had fear and worry. Where some people just saw a place to accidentally be scratched by a rusty nail, others saw possibilities of treasure.
But every single person who had these experiences was compelled to think, and to communicate their thoughts. Not just what they thought, but why they thought it. While I hope my games create the sense of joy and excitement, I hope even more that it makes people think and talk with those around them, and create friendships that last forever. (Or improve the ones you already have!)
